Safety Overview
Please ensure that you have watched the safety video and completed your waiver before arriving. Please arrive 45 minutes before your session.
The water depth in The Bays is up to 1.2 metres deep, there are currents moving throughout the lagoon. We recommend anyone under the age of 10 to have a Surf Buddy in the water.

This lesson provides new surfer an introduction to the Smoothstar surf trainer including:
The safe and effective methods to mount and dismount
Independently move forward
Core elements of weight distribution applicable to surfing
Understanding of which parts of the body control a surfboard whether in whitewater or small green face waves.
Surfers will focus on improving balance, posture and overall confidence when completing this lesson.

SKATE
Novice

This lesson provides the novice surfer who normally rides small green faced waves on a softboard or long/mid-length fibreglass board an introduction to the Smoothstar surf trainer.
Surfers will be introduced to:
Key elements of generating speed to ride across a green face wave which allows them to go in and out of manoeuvres with control, power and flow.
Basic manoeuvres such as bottom hand turn on forehand and backhand in order to drop in, turn and redirect on the a green face wave.

Skate
Intermediate

This group lesson is for surfers who can consistently paddle into green faced point break style waves on a hybrid/mid-length board and want to enhance aspects of their surfing style and technique.
Surfers will solidify the fundamental building blocks of surf simulation on land for performance surfing and focus on surf technique, speed generation, control and introducing or improving your turns and connecting manoeuvres.
