The Wave
Progressive Turns offers perfect point-break style waves with enough power to be enjoyed by surfers on all craft. A little bit bigger and steeper take-off than cruiser, it’s the perfect wave if you are looking to start transitioning to Intermediate and beyond. It’s also an ideal session if you want to work on your technique with a consistent shape and a rippable pocket.
Suitable For
Novice surfers who have progressed from the Cruiser session and can surf unassisted. Great for all surfers looking to refine their surfing and work up towards Intermediate and beyond.
SURFING PROGRESSIVE SESSIONS
Fun, Cruisy Waves
The waves in cruiser surf sessions are fun, friendly, and perfect for novice surfers looking to improve their surfing and have a blast. If you love riding a longboard, mini-mal or fish at Noosa, Byron Bay or Point Roadknight, this is the session for you!
DAY OR NIGHT
Our state-of-the-art stadium sports lighting makes early morning and night surfing in Melbourne possible, running until 10pm in the Summer months.
Limited Crowds
To ensure high wave counts, surfer numbers are capped on each side of The Point, per session. Surfer priority is managed with a strict but fair one-at-a-time system – wait your turn, and when your wave comes, it’s yours.
Access To Amenities
When you book a cruiser surf session at The Point, you’ll also receive all-day access to URBNSURF Melbourne’s amenities, including parking, hot tubs, changerooms, landscaped spaces, and a free locker to store your valuables.

Score an hour’s worth of our new, point-break style waves – rights or lefts – during our Progressive Turns Sessions.
Numbers are capped on each side of The Point so each surfer scores around 10-12 waves per session.

PARENTS/GUARDIAN
SURF BUDDY

Wear a personal flotation device (PFD) vest and accompany your kids as they surf during a Cruiser Session.
If you’re helping your child progress, or they just need that extra push, be their Surf Buddy and share the stoke.
Priced at $30 on weekdays, and $35 on weekends and public holidays, for parents and guardians to accompany children during a Cruiser Session. Includes PFD vest.
Surf Progression
5 Week Program
Whether this is your first time surfing, have previously completed a surf lesson, or want to work on your technique, the Surf Progression 5 Week Program is perfect to improve your surfing.
You can sign up for afternoon or evening Learn To Surf first timer or Learn To Surf – Beginner Progressive lessons with the same coach, at the same time each week. Your progress will be accelerated through tailored instruction and weekly repetition.

Is there a turn you want to master? Technique you want to improve? Book in a Progressive Lesson with one of our friendly, expert surf coaches to develop your skills and progress your surfing faster. Priced from $99 for adults, $89 for children.
Intermediate Surf Sessions
Once you’ve mastered the cruiser settings, and you’re ready to take the next step, try one of our intermediate surf sessions. Also held at The Point, our intermediate surf sessions offer playful “Malibu”-style waves through to mid-range turns waves, and are perfect for honing your skills.
